St. Augustine
City Commission
St. Augustine has few rivals for beauty and charm, history and unending opportunities for fun. My family has been welcomed in a way we’ve never experienced and I am confident in a bright, shared future for us if we make necessary, impactful and timely decisions required to preserve and prosper.
I look forward to sharing more about my platform with you.
Increase quality of life for residents by making our neighborhoods and downtown more convenient for daily necessities and enjoyment.
This means reduced traffic and time to destination with real transit alternatives that reach our historic downtown and sites in the greater area, peripheral residential communities, and airports.
We need more options for how we get to where we’re going, and consideration of hubs for those goods we need everyday. If elected, I will govern with a resident and local business first approach.
Our efforts must be designed to scale as tourism numbers continue to grow. Outcomes should be meaningful and measurable so that your lives are better each day.
Deliver on our projects that increase environmental resilience.
We must continue focusing on essential work that will safeguard our city from changing weather patterns and associated risks. This will require ongoing dedication to current and future projects, and a commitment to revising priorities as predictive forecasts change.
Doing more with what we already have have.
St. Augustine is home to a thriving business community, young professionals, and a growing number of entrepreneurs who call this beautiful city our home.
We are underutilizing existing commercially zoned property that can increase our revenues. New business owners experience difficulty navigating city requirements, delaying time to open. The business community is not consistently informed of city decisions that directly impact the bottom line.
I am committed to improving communication with the business community and consideration for stakeholders who work in our city’s businesses. We should plan a future that includes alternative business space models to support aspiring owners who can’t afford high business rent, or are without traditional funds needed to start a business.
All of this starts by creating better partnerships between the city, our existing business community, a growing entrepreneur base, and our younger generation.
